Blog Questions

What was Mail Art made of?
Mail art, along with the synonymous terms Postal art and Correspondence art, refers to small-scale works that utilize the mail as a distribution system. These terms have also come to refer to related formats, including artist-designed “postage stamps,” postcards, and even impressions from rubber stamps

In what way was the Net Art movement similar to Fluxus?
Both Net Art and Fluxus began outside the "fine arts" and included people from a non-artistic background. Fluxus influenced Mail-Art not only by his technical and ideoligical basis, but also by the nature of its artists.

After watching the video about Paolo Cirio and Alessandro Ludovico's project Face to Facebook, what are some comments that come to your mind? What is the purpose of such a project? Was it successful in your opinion? At first I thought that what Cirio and Lodovico's project was illegal. First of all they took people's photos without their consenting and therefore violated their privacy. Later, when I realised the purpose of the project, I thought of it differently, and thought it was a clever thing to do. The puporse of the project was to raise awareness and make people understand that facebook isn't as private and as secure as they think it might be. It is a fact that facebook own every piece of information and data posted on their network and can use and do what they please to with pictures and personal information. The project was done out of good intensions, and proved to show that anyone who happens to have bad motives can easily access one's personal information on facebook.
